Kristin Fischer will join CNN as the Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. As the Space and Defence Correspondent for CNN, she is responsible for covering all aspects of space, from NASA and its newly created Space Force up until commercial space firms, as well as the growth and advent of tourism to space. Kristin is mother of NASA astronauts and an enthusiastic space lover has spent her entire childhood in the field. She spent five years in the position of White House correspondent for FOX News covering space policy under the Biden and Trump Administrations. In that period, she also covered two presidential impeachment trials, the 2020 presdiential campaign, and two attempts by the administration to stop the spread of coronavirus. The former president Donald Trump traveled to Afghanistan for a restricted trip. Kristin worked her way through the newsrooms of local markets like Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, as well as Washington, D.C. for nearly a decade before becoming a part of the CBS network. Kristin was the recipient of the Emmy Award in Washington, D.C. for her work as an CBS station's reporter who was a one-man band. Kristin's expertise as a camerawoman led her to found Field Mouse Films which specialized creating documentary-style films for clients of corporate nature, such as Uber Hotels & Resorts and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism at Boston University. Kristin is married to her daughter, and their three-year-old in Washington, D.C.
